Mitt Romney to receive JFK prize for courage for his vote to impeach Trump

Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney will obtain the John F Kennedy Profile in Braveness Award for being the one Republican to vote to question former President Donald Trump throughout his first impeachment trial in early 2020.

The award was created by the household of the late president to acknowledge those that threat their careers for the better public good by taking up unpopular positions. The award is known as after Mr Kennedy’s 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning e book, “Profiles in Braveness”.

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of JFK, stated in a press release from the JFK Library Basis: “Senator Romney’s dedication to our Structure makes him a worthy successor to the senators who impressed my father to jot down ‘Profiles in Braveness’.”

She added: “He reminds us that our Democracy depends upon the braveness, conscience and character of our elected officers.”

The 74-year-old Mr Romney stated he was impressed by his father George Romney, who was an automotive government and served because the governor of Michigan.
